Grid Painting 473 with Flower of Life

It's been entertaining to do these grid paintings.  They have been lovely to paint and the structure lends itself some ease.  An essay on abstractcritical.com  led me to the written work of Rosalind Krauss.  She wrote that a "Grid sustained itself so relentlessly while at the same time being impervious to change." "Development is what the grid resists."

As a psychotherapist, artist and a person constantly seeking development, the structure has given me a welcomed platform.

Watercolor Circles

This watercolor is 8"x10" and is composed by using the fluid nature of watercolor and stencils.

I like to think of these as sketches. This was done on a homemade gelatin plate with tempera paints,  hand made stencils and a sketch book from childhood.

It has been awhile since posting due to technical difficulties. :) Also, I forgot to photograph this before framing, but hopefully there will be more posts to follow.  This is a 20"x30" watercolor ready for the 40 Arts West abstract show.
