Gelatin Print: Seat of the Soul

This is another Gelatin print using the circle and lettered stencil.  I like experimenting with the random placement of lines and circles while contemplating where is the Seat of the Soul?  The local placement of a non-local spiritual concept is inherently paradoxical and that  makes me laugh.  It's here. No, it's here.  No, it's over there.

I've also been reading a painting retrospective on Wayne Thiebaud.  Here is a quote form one of his lectures,"People say painting's dead. Fine. It's dead for you. I don't care. Painting is alive for me.  Painting is life for me."  He painted traditionally and realistically during a time of abstract expressionism.  He was dedicated to his painting voice and maybe found the seat of his soul.
